(IT) Il terzo volume di dire a titolo This Is Not The End è interamente dedicato al tema degli abissi. Il direttore artistico Angelo Cricchi mi ha proposto, insieme all’editore Yourban2030, di realizzare un brano dedicato al volume. Nel dialogo con Veronica De Angelis e Maura Crudeli, presidente e vicepresidente di Yourban2030 ho trovato l’ispirazione per sviluppare un intero album. Un progetto dalla timbrica sinfonica arricchita da incursioni elettroniche.
Abissirae, il titolo, esprime l’arte dello sprofondare, dell’inabissarsi, un neologismo dedicato agli scenari di auto sabotaggio che, per emozioni e passione, portano a morire ma anche a risalire, risorgere dalle ceneri. Il lavoro è stato scritto in alcune e giornate passate sulle dune dello Jonio, Campomarino di Maruggio, un mare invernale che accarezza la solitudine. Ho immaginato una storia, un’emozione un suono ed è nato l’album sulle righe di un pentagramma. Nella seconda traccia Un Respiro nel Branco, un’immagine di inabissamento e di profondità, ho coinvolto un grandissimo violinista nell’esecuzione del tema principale, Mario Bajardi. Il suono del suo violino elettrico, gli eco nella post produzione, il ribattere delle frequenze con ritmi analogici raccontal’inabissamento di una creatura che decide di immergersi nella danza di cetacei.
(EN) The third volume of Irae entitled This Is Not The End is entirely dedicated to the theme of the abyss. The art director Angelo Cricchi proposed to me, together with the publisher Yourban2030, to create a music track dedicated to the volume. In dialogue with Veronica De Angelis and Maura Crudeli, president and vice-president of Yourban2030, I found the inspiration to develop an entire album. A project with a symphonic timbre enriched by electronic incursions.
Abissirae, the title, expresses the art of sinking, a neologism dedicated to scenarios of self-sabotage that, through emotion and passion, lead to death but also to rising, to resurgence from the ashes. The work was written in a few days spent on the dunes of the Ionian Sea, in Campomarino di Maruggio, a winter sea that caresses solitude. I imagined a story, an emotion a sound and the album was born on the lines of a pentagram. In the second track Un Respiro nel Branco, an image of sinking and depth, I involved a great violinist in the performance of the main theme, Mario Bajardi. The sound of his electric violin, the echoes in the post-production, the beating of frequencies with analogue rhythms tell of the sinking of a creature that decides to immerse itself in the dance of cetaceans.
